What I love About The Forge!

There is no doubt that I have loved being at the class for every session, and every week I am counting down the days until the next lesson. The class is truly the highlight of my week, but it is just a shame I must wait six days before the next one!

The things I have enjoyed most about the Forge are the improvisation and doing duologues. Although I usually do duologues with my friend who also attends the acting class, I do find it useful to act with other people, even if I do not know them as well.

I always enjoy improvisation because it gives me the freedom to explore different characters without having a script with certain lines to define a character. I especially like it when we have settings like an airplane or cafe, and everyone joins in at various times. This means that the scene is freer because it is unplanned, and you have not discussed characters with other people, so you cannot know how the scene is going to end.

I also enjoy duologues for reasons like being able to experiment further with character’s personalities without having to worry about what they are going to say, just how they are going to say it. Although I’m not always keen on working with people I do not know very well (especially if they are a boy), it does mean that I get to work with other people and it is always a very different experience to drama lessons at school, because whoever I work with at the Forge will always take it seriously.

I have enjoyed the Forge because everyone there takes it seriously, no matter who I work with. My teacher helps me a lot with acting, and I find it really helps.

Since joining the Forge, I have become more confident in my acting. When I first started, I would dread having to perform my improvisations or scenes, but now I look forward to when we all get to share our work. I always feel welcome at the Forge, and I never feel as though I am being judged on how well I can act. I look forward to the Forge every week (especially when there is cake) and I can never wait for the next lesson.

I enjoy it because I love acting and this class does only acting. I struggled to find an acting class that didn’t involve singing and or dancing, but the Forge was only acting, and I feel like it has boosted my confidence and helped me to improve.

In conclusion, I love this class and enjoy this class because I like to explore the different characters I can act or could learn to act, and I love doing the improvisation because it means I am free to experiment with these characters. I will continue to go to the Forge and love every minute I am there.
